Eco-Friendly Paints

Paints using organic solvent have been used primarily up to now, but recently customers have been requesting paints and coatings that are more eco-friendly, which contribute to a reduction in VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions and CO2 emissions. At Asahi Sunac, we offer "Ec'Coater" to provide these eco-friendly paints at a higher level.

Powder Paint

This method involves efficiently charging powder paint with static electricity, covering the target object with the paint, then heating it up and melting it to the object to form a coating film.Since no organic solvent is used in this paint, there are almost no VOC emissions, and excess paint can be gathered and reused, among other environmentally-friendly, cost-saving features.

Water-based Paint

By using paint that can be diluted with water instead of solvent, this method cuts VOC emissions significantly when compared to traditional solvent paints. Many industries have adopted this method, including the automotive industry, an recently a water-based, two-component paint has been newly developed, which is a fusion of water-based paint with hardening agent.

Two-component Coating

By mixing a steady proportion of "hardening agent" ingredients during urethane or epoxy coating, film-forming can be performed via room temperature drying and low-temperature baking, eliminating CO2 emissions from the dry kiln. Since the film coating formed by this method is highly durable, it is often used for coating building machinery, or resin products that cannot be bake finished at high temperatures.
